Staying up late with the kids to watch the Aurora Borealis (aka, the Aurora Boring All Of Us!) I started taking pictures with my phone and this is what I got:
Not very exciting! As the sun went down and it got dark, you couldn’t really see any colors, but a little showed up on my phone pictures, like this:
The kids are falling asleep, and I start wondering, should I wake them up, and take them inside? Just leave them here?
And then at 10:30pm PST, it happened. BOOM!
Like nothing I had ever seen or experience before. Sooooo, amazing!
As I said in the podcast, I was excited the next time to take pictures with my Canon R6, now armed with knowledge from ChatGPT on how to take night pictures. And this is what I got on that first night:
